Recent Community Connectedness Projects

Volunteers

Volunteers are often thought of as the heart of communities but in todays hectic world many people simply don't have the time to make an ongoing commitment to volunteering. St-wise designed and created a web based program to connect volunteers with community groups or organisations who need assistance with one-off projects.

People usually get together and form a community group because they have a united passion. St-wise has worked with a variety of community groups and organisations to develop strategic business plans that identify objectives, a common vision, future opportunities and a clear action plan. Our most recent project was working with an emergency relief organisation to develop a plan to guide the Committee of Management's future actions. Read more about our most recent project.

Visioning Workshops

Visioning workshops are often part of the strategic planning process, however, can be useful as a starting point to bring together all stakeholders to agree upon common objectives or just to get groups that are not united back on track. St-wise uses stimulated, thought provoking activities to encourage workshop participants to agree upon a vision that is short, sharp and worth achieving. Other outcomes from visioning workshops include identification of current relationships with key partners. The information gathered can assist to identify where relationships need to be strengthened to encourage future growth.

Networking Opportunities

Networking provides groups with similar interests to share ideas and learn from each other. St-wise has worked with local government to develop a community group network. The network represents 16 individual groups meeting on a quarterly basis to network and share ideas.

Mentoring

Mandy Black was honoured to be asked to mentor an individual with a dream to build a community playground entirely with volunteer assistance. Visit www.montrosereserve.org.au/playground to read about this inspiring community project.

St-wise has been contracted by local government to engage with communities to receive feedback and input relating to specific local projects.

Mandy Black worked with a steering committee to produce Communities Unite, a publication that showcases and celebrating local community achievements.

"....I presented the Strategic plan and have since had some positive feedback - mainly around clarity, flow, & achievability - well done. One person even said it was better than some they had seen at Telstra and IBM!"
