Local community groups are the sole of their suburb, town or district. For the past 5 years St-Wise has been working with these groups to inspire, motivate and guide them. It is our aim that such groups become self-sustaining, and that all group members agree upon a vision.
Our strategic work assists each group to plan for their vision to become a reality.
St-Wise has been involved in a range of interesting and inspiring community projects that have assisted in building the capacity of community groups.
Community-Bushfire-Recovery
In February 2009, Victoria was affected by one of the states worst worst natural disasters ever known. In response the Shire of Yarra Ranges immediately commenced the preparation of the 'Municipal Recovery Action Plan'. This plan identified a number of key areas in response to assisting the community recovery from the tragedy.
Mandy Black has been working with the Council and local community groups and individuals to initiate and develop events and programs that build resilience and social connectedness.
Community Planning
St-Wise plans and conducts stimulating workshops and community meetings on behalf of groups or local council's to engage the broader community and identify key community priorities. This is often the initial stage in preparing a plan that guides future actions.
